Was meant to post this yesterday but I was so tired after yesterdays activity... Yesterday, we had some Christmas Charity event for the orphans that were coming to KBU. IT WAS SO DAMN FUN. Really glad that i volunteered for it.
I actually just volunteered for the face painting but i ended up helping more but I didn't mind cause i was having fun doing it. Firstly, we had the face painting event.
we were actually getting ready the things we needed. but after that, we were supposed to be on standby for the kids that were coming... we ended up playing the face paint on each other :P
Painted on friends face and lecturer face too! mua hahaha. its good that they were sporting enough to have their face paint XD
lots of playing... then the kiddies came!!! woohoo!! its funny sometimes that kids would make hard request... there's this one boy who was asking me to paint naruto on his face! i was like SHIT! i gave suggestion that i would give him whiskers that naruto has but he didn't want it cause it would make him look like a cat :P so he was reasonable and said that he wanted samurai on his hand. so ok.. fine.. how on earth am i gonna do a samurai... so i "negotiate" with the kid and said that i would paint the shadow of the samurai and he agreed XD but after that, he wanted batman ON HIS WHOLE FACE!! I was like WTF!!! then i said how about the symbol of batman instead??? on the cheek!!! ( i totally forgot how batman symbol look like.. all i know its a bat...) thank god he didn't mind... then because of one other kid wanted a dragon... he wants a dragon too!! ahhhh!!! lots of things happen actually but if i continue i think i would fill up the whole page.. so yea, cutting short on the face paint.
Then Ms Yvonne needed some extra help with the hand printing so we volunteered again. Ms Yvonne told us what should be done and told us to guide the kids on how and where to do it. after the briefing, we help with setting the paint on the plastic plates for kids. the funny thing is... we ended up playing with the paint instead before the kids could play with it XD
so it was a mayhem!!! A PAINT WAR!!!everyone and i really meant EVERYONE start dipping their fingers and palm on the paint and start grabbing, printing and poking each other! even the lecturers were playing with us XD Especially Ms Yee von.. she was....WILD with the colours... no one better touch or come near her cause she would just touch u with paint...
then kids start coming in. at first it was okay... ( although they were reluctant to leave cause their turn ended) me and jeannie guide them to the washing area outside the lobby. i was at the front and jeannie was at the back. but once u let them see the outside world, 3 of the boys ZOOM out... running around!! jeannie was already busy handling 2 kids to guide them... i had to chase 3 kids who were hyperactive... brought em back, guide em back to their seats. so jeannie had become the babysitter for kids who were done with the hand printing. while i was busy guiding them to wash their hands and watching for kids who were done and watch out for any runaway kids... while i was waiting, i saw Jeannie was holding one kid down! Jeannie was shouting my name ," STEPHANIE!!! HELP ME!!! THIS KID KEEP RUNNING AWAY!!!" i actually find the scene cute cause jeannie is so small yet she can hold the kid down who is smaller than her... it was so damn funny and cute... that kid ended up being jeannie's kid XD hahah!! and she had to run back and forth to catch the the other runaways XD
Mei Yuin is good with kids, same goes to Kau. Carmen, Mickey, Pei Rung and Tze Pei aren't that bad either.. Tze Pei also has a kid and its a girl. Tze Pei really behaves like a mother cause she was kind with the kids. i have no kids but i do gain kids compliments :D most were asking about my hair... whether did i "Paint" it... some called me teacher blue hair... it was so damn funny and cute. one kid actually ask me to carry him... awww.... he was so cute.... XD after the event, all of us were exhausted!!!
I don't think i can fit all the story in here so im just gonna end it here. overall, the Christmas Charity event was FUN and GREAT! tired but it was worth it for doing good to others :)
